Securing your data
Skydeck requires your trust and we will never take that for granted. Here are some of the technologies and policies that we use to protect and safeguard your data.
Only you have the keys to your data
You do not have to give Skydeck the login information for your cell phone account. Our browser toolbar stores that on your own computer and never sends it to Skydeck. The toolbar logs in to your cell phone account each day to check how many minutes you have left (and to fetch your cell phone bill if it's ready) and it sends that data to Skydeck.
Your Skydeck account is protected by your Skydeck password. Please choose a password that is difficult for someone else to guess and keep it private. If you forget your password, you can only recover it by answering the security question that you selected at registration. No one at Skydeck has access to your account password and if you forget both your password and the answer to your security question we will not be able to recover your account.
Secure communications
Skydeck uses 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology, authenticated by Verisign, to secure all communications between your computer and our website.
Encrypted storage
Many online services — including your cell phone company — only encrypt your data while it is being sent over the Internet. Skydeck also stores your data on our servers in encrypted form.
Secure data facilities
Skydeck's servers are maintained in a remote facility that uses military-grade access controls, is protected by onsite security guards, and is monitored 24/7.
Hacker safe
Skydeck.com is monitored for vulnerabilities by McAfee’s Hacker Safe scanning service, to minimize the threat of outside attacks.
Employees have no access to your data
Skydeck employees require your permission to access your personal account for customer support. Even then, employees are required to sign confidentiality agreements that protect your data and they may be subject to discipline, including termination and legal action, if they do not comply.
